Position: Freight Flow Associate-2

Position Summary

At Sam's Club, this position oversees the safety, inventory, customer service, merchandising, and operational requirements for a warehouse environment. The role ensures compliance with Walmart standards, company policies, ethical practices, and the Open Door Policy. Responsibilities include forklift operation, item staging, inventory tracking, pallet handling, member and customer support, technology assistance, safety sweeps, and collaboration with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners to prioritize work and drive continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts safely following company standards and guidelines for picking up, moving, and placing merchandise pallets.
  • Manage inventory flow by organizing merchandise from distribution centers, sorting, staging, and delivering goods while maintaining proper shelving, rotation, and documentation.
  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, guiding technology use, and assisting with purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain facility safety by conducting safety sweeps, handling hazardous materials, and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Support sales floor merchandising, including zoning, stocking, rotating, and removing damaged or out‑of‑date goods, and staging promotional/seasonal displays.
  • Assist with club pick‑up orders; ensure accurate staging, timely picking, and perform occasional audits.
  • Track goods, maintain in‑stock levels, control shrink, and report poor inventory practices.
  • Use inventory tools and equipment responsibly and report equipment conditions.
  • Actively engage customers in technology services and model usage of technology tools.
  • Implement actions to prevent shrink and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Demonstrate respect for individual differences, collaborate as a team, mentor associates, and uphold Walmart values.
  • Serve customers and members by putting the customer first and making evidence‑based decisions that balance short‑term and long‑term priorities.

Education & Eligibility

Compensation

Hourly wage range: $21.00 – $29.00 (actual rate equals or exceeds local minimum wage). Additional compensation includes premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 90 days of prior forklift experience with forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience.
  • Retail experience.
  • Experience supervising a team.
