2nd Shift Diesel Shop Supervisor

** About the Job*
* We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Diesel Shop Supervisor to lead our second-shift maintenance operations in Gaithersburg, MD. This position combines strong diesel mechanic expertise with front-line supervisory responsibilities by providing direct leadership for technicians. Manages work flow and assigns tasks.

As a working supervisor, you will provide leadership and technical guidance to a team of 6 technicians, ensuring timely and high-quality maintenance and repair of a fleet of approximately 70 vehicles. This role requires the ability to balance administrative duties with active participation in diagnostics and repairs.

Shift Details:

This is a 2nd shift position, with a start time between 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with rotating Saturdays.

** What you'll be doing*
* + Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.

+ Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.

+ Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents.

+ Performs mechanical duties as needed.

+ Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.

+ Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

+ Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.

+ Creates and submits reports as necessary.

Required Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED (accredited)

+ 4 years years of relevant work experience. (in addition to education requirements)

+ Valid Driver's License

** Pay:
** The expected base pay range for this office/on-site position is $80,877 - $90,392. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
