The Director of the Office of Life Sciences provides strategic leadership to Maryland's life sciences industry development programs, overseeing business development, industry partnerships, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The position reports to the Department of Commerce and manages a team of two while representing the state at national and international conferences and industry events.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field
- 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in business or economic development in the life sciences industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of and work experience in life sciences, biotechnology, medical technology, or computational health industries
- Experience with grants, budgeting, market research, and business planning
- Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills with excellent written and oral communication
