Job Summary

The Production Supervisor leads daily manufacturing operations to meet production goals, KPIs, and operational targets. This role oversees workflow, resolves operational issues, and coordinates cross-functional support to maintain output. The supervisor also coaches associates, reinforces Lean manufacturing principles, and drives continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Leads daily manufacturing activities to meet production goals and KPIs.
  • Drives adherence to safety and housekeeping policies, partnering with EHS to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensures compliance with established procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Manages operational flow and eliminates bottlenecks through daily problem‑solving and escalation.
  • Escalates problems cross‑functionally and facilitates actions that help the team achieve production goals.
  • Serves as the team's subject matter expert on manufacturing processes.
  • Leads rapid Kaizens to eliminate waste in manufacturing processes.
  • Coaches associates on Lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S, value‑added vs. non‑value‑added work, the 8 wastes, one‑piece flow, pull systems, and visual management.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts to drive operational excellence in manufacturing.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex manufacturing issues.
  • Provides training to associates, including onboarding and new procedures.
  • Measures associate performance and coaches them to meet daily goals.
  • Assigns and distributes workloads.
  • Processes inventory and material transactions in the ERP system to align with manufacturing flow.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 1 year manufacturing experience in Food, Pharma and Industrial production settings. Must have experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, Gov military contracts).
  • Associate's degree with 5 years manufacturing experience in Food, Pharma and Industrial production settings. Must have experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, Gov military contracts).
  • High school degree with 10 years manufacturing experience in Food, Pharma and Industrial production settings. Must have experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, Gov military contracts). Minimum 2 years team lead experience.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams, coaching performance, and developing associate capability.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence across functions and elevate effectively.
  • Proven ability to execute and sustain Daily Management Systems and drive cross‑functional accountability.
  • Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, including waste elimination, flow, pull systems, visual management, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving flow, identifying bottlenecks, and resolving operational constraints through structured problem‑solving.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to function as a subject matter expert for assigned areas.
  • Experience leading Kaizen activities and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effective resource and workload management skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, and knowledge of regulatory requirements, process validations, safe work practices, and ISO 9000 requirements.
  • Commitment to safety culture and adherence to EHS and housekeeping standards.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is between $48.00‑$52.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
