Research TitleThermal 3D Magnetic Imaging of Advanced Semiconductor Packages
The Work Will EntailOur multidisciplinary team seeks a postdoctoral researcher to develop high‑sensitivity magnetic microscopes and accompanying software. Approximately 50 % of the effort will be on instrumentation, and 50 % on software development, including image reconstruction and machine‑learning classification for thermal imaging in packaged semiconductor devices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop custom‑designed magnetic microscopes for thermal imaging.
- Collaborate with team members to thermally image semiconductor test packages.
- Develop user‑friendly image reconstruction software based on existing Python code, incorporating machine‑learning classifications of results.
- Develop software for automated synthesis of magnetic nanoparticle tracers.
- Present results at internal meetings, stakeholder meetings, and conferences.
- Archive or transmit results, protocols, software, and documentation to the larger organization.
- Write journal papers covering project results.
- Ph.D. in physics, physical chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant research experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with custom electronic, magnetic or optical instrumentation.
