Research Scientist
We are seeking a hands-on Materials R&D Technician to support the development, preparation, testing, and scale-up of advanced conductive inks.
Working directly with the CTO and Senior Materials Scientist, the Technician will execute established synthesis procedures, formulations, and experimental plans. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and wants experience in materials R&D and commercialization.
About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Materials R&D Technician to support the development, preparation, testing, and scale-up of advanced conductive inks.
Working directly with the CTO and Senior Materials Scientist, the Technician will execute established synthesis procedures, formulations, and experimental plans. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and wants experience in materials R&D and commercialization.
Responsibilities- Perform chemical synthesis and prepare ink formulations according to established SOPs and experimental instructions.
- Carry out laboratory processes including weighing, mixing, milling, centrifugation, drying, and related materials processing.
- Execute controlled formulation and process experiments designed by senior technical staff.
- Conduct performance testing including conductivity/resistance, adhesion, aging and stability, coating/printing performance, and other materials testing.
- Prepare larger batches of established formulations for customer samples and evaluations.
- Accurately document formulations, processing conditions, observations, and test results.
- Organize experimental data and create graphs, tables, and summaries for biweekly technical reports.
- Maintain chemical and laboratory inventory and assist with ordering needs.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas and follow appropriate chemical safety and waste-handling procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with an associate degree and substantial relevant laboratory experience may also be considered.
- Meaningful hands-on laboratory experience strongly preferred. Experience may come from undergraduate research, internships, co-ops, academic research, or professional employment.
- Industry experience is not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures consistently.
- Good laboratory documentation and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency with Excel or similar software, including creating graphs and organizing experimental data.
- Comfortable working hands-on with chemicals and laboratory equipment.
- Experience with conductive inks, coatings, chemical synthesis, dispersions, milling, rheology, thin films, or electronic materials is helpful but not required.
