About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Materials R&D Technician to support the development, preparation, testing, and scale-up of advanced conductive inks.

Working directly with the CTO and Senior Materials Scientist, the Technician will execute established synthesis procedures, formulations, and experimental plans. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and wants experience in materials R&D and commercialization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical synthesis and prepare ink formulations according to established SOPs and experimental instructions.
  • Carry out laboratory processes including weighing, mixing, milling, centrifugation, drying, and related materials processing.
  • Execute controlled formulation and process experiments designed by senior technical staff.
  • Conduct performance testing including conductivity/resistance, adhesion, aging and stability, coating/printing performance, and other materials testing.
  • Prepare larger batches of established formulations for customer samples and evaluations.
  • Accurately document formulations, processing conditions, observations, and test results.
  • Organize experimental data and create graphs, tables, and summaries for biweekly technical reports.
  • Maintain chemical and laboratory inventory and assist with ordering needs.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas and follow appropriate chemical safety and waste-handling procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with an associate degree and substantial relevant laboratory experience may also be considered.
  • Meaningful hands-on laboratory experience strongly preferred. Experience may come from undergraduate research, internships, co-ops, academic research, or professional employment.
  • Industry experience is not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures consistently.
  • Good laboratory documentation and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Excel or similar software, including creating graphs and organizing experimental data.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with chemicals and laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with conductive inks, coatings, chemical synthesis, dispersions, milling, rheology, thin films, or electronic materials is helpful but not required.
Growth & Development

We are a small, rapidly growing advanced materials company, and this role offers the opportunity to grow alongside the organization. The Technician will work directly with senior technical leadership and gain broad hands-on experience in synthesis, formulation, materials testing, process optimization, scale-up, and commercialization.

As the company and technical team expand, there will be opportunities for strong performers to take on greater technical responsibility, contribute more directly to process and product development, and grow into more advanced roles within the organization.
