OVERVIEWThe Lead has a direct impact on both the execution of brand standards and the teammate experience. With guidance from the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager, the Lead is the in‑store expert of their business/department. The Lead focuses on delivering the best service to our customers and providing direction to teammates. They lead by example, are empathetic, relentless in adversity, optimistic, and collaborative with teammates.
Responsibilities include building and hiring a strong team through in‑store interviews and department tours, fostering a people‑first culture, building mutual trust and respect, planning and organizing the next 30 days with guidance from the Assistant Store Manager, leveraging teammates to ensure brand standards and programs are executed daily, upholding merchandising and presentation standards, supervising general store operations in accordance with company policies, training teammates on procedures and programs (including onboarding and cross‑training), prioritizing coaching and development, teaching the “why” behind tasks and processes, supporting the vision of the organization, creating an inclusive store environment, adhering to safety and loss‑prevention procedures, maintaining confidentiality, taking an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach, and performing other tasks as assigned by management.

- Flexible availability – including nights, weekend, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales experience (or customer‑focused experience) preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up 15 to 35 lbs. items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
Targeted Pay Range: $21.50 - $29.50. Starting rate of pay may vary based on location, experience, and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. DICK’S Sporting Goods complies with all state paid leave requirements.
