Overview

Store Sales Representative Needed - Silver Spring, MD. Hillman Group is an industry leader in builder solutions, delivering 114,000 products to the nations top home improvement retailers. The role provides merchandising services and on-site customer support to maintain prescribed regular service programs and customer relationships at or above customer expectations. The territory consists of multiple stores with approximately 40 hours per week on a flexible schedule.

This is an hourly position with pay based on experience (typically $19-20 per hour). A company car will be provided along with a corporate gas card for business miles.

Responsibilities
  • Merchandising and Customer Support:
    Travels to and among customer store locations according to service schedule and as necessary to resolve issues. Maintains customer stores by ensuring displays are set to plan-o-grams, assessing inventory levels, placing customer orders, down-stocking product, removing defective product, placing POP material, and repairing displays and equipment.
  • Store Display Resets:
    Performs physical work to tear down and/or assemble store displays, including racks and other prescribed display items according to plan-o-grams. May provide direction and supervision to temporary or support personnel assigned to assist with the reset.
  • Conduct Store Surveys:
    Completes customer service sheets and surveys as directed. Takes photos of displays.
  • Follows company policies and procedures:
    Maintain and timely submit required records and receipts; follow prescribed time reporting procedures and submit time worked accurately and promptly.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college courses preferred.
Qualifications
  • Two years of field service or merchandising experience preferred, ideally in a large-scale retail environment.
  • Able to read and execute store plan-o-grams efficiently; proficient in Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Able to regularly travel to and among store locations, with occasional overnight stays as required to service the territory.
  • Maintains valid drivers license and a driver record acceptable under Hillmans Vehicle Policy.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows
  • Able to read and execute store plan-o-grams efficiently
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public
  • Able to travel to and among store locations, with occasional overnight stays as required
  • Maintains valid drivers license and driver record acceptable under Hillmans Vehicle Policy
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Sales/Service environment varies by location/store setup. May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Travel required daily; may drive up to 200 miles daily. Hand/eye coordination required; normal vision and hearing required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs.
