Location:
SCP Distributor 069, 3431 Benson Avenue, Halethorpe, MD 21227.Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 plus annual bonus opportunities, company vehicle, benefits, and more.
- Develop a strategy to increase sales and profits within the assigned territory for different customer segments including key, opportunity, new, and existing customers.
- Prospect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research; follow up on qualified sales leads.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, becoming a trusted advisor and ensuring long‑term engagement.
- Plan and execute a minimum number of daily scheduled sales calls with defined objectives for the assigned book of business.
- Travel within the designated territory to deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations that meet customer needs.
- Negotiate terms, close sales, and handle post‑sale support, addressing customer concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Coordinate sales efforts with corporate marketing initiatives and incentives.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand the customer base and stay informed on market trends.
- Provide quotes and product data promptly and accurately.
- Develop relationships with regional and division leadership, and vendor representatives to achieve individual and broader goals.
- Maintain all customer records in the CRM system, completing reports and call records in a timely fashion.
- Stay current on competitor activities, market conditions, and industry trends through ongoing research and analysis.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- At least 2 years of professional‑level business‑to‑business sales experience.
- Proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale distribution environment.
- Ability to cold call on prospective clients.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and long‑term relationships.
- Knowledge of industry products and distribution processes.
- Self‑motivation and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft CRM or similar systems and the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., Prelude) is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years), and willingness to travel regularly within the designated area.
- Occasional ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds at the Sales Center or on customer sites.
- Minimum age 21 years for applicants.
