Market Development Manager

About the Role

Market Development Manager – Baltimore, MD. This territory‑based role requires residence within the Baltimore region and focuses on expanding gross merchandise value (GMV) for Progressive Leasing through partnerships with retailers.

• Engage retailer field leadership and communicate the retailer and customer value propositions at the highest levels of the retailer field organization.
• Conduct business reviews with retail partner field leadership to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and negotiate tactics to overcome growth barriers.
• Influence and motivate partner leaders to meet and exceed business commitments, driving channel sales and brand loyalty.
• Educate and inform internal teams on products, solutions, technology, and available tools to reinforce channel performance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve and assess a range of issues creatively, and suggest variations in approach to field and account management.
• Coordinate with people managers across the sales organization to ensure necessary field support for retail partner locations.
• Develop and communicate strategic plans that can be executed across teams to achieve business objectives.
• Use  and other tools to track activities, resolve issues, and share progress.
• Consistently exceed GMV targets, grow LTO applications through strategic execution of a plan, and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies.
• Resolve compliance cases to ensure retailers accurately represent Progressive Leasing solutions and options.
• Travel up to 50% of the time, including driving to visit retail stores.

• 6+ years of relevant sales or channel management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to exceed quota and grow channel business.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards.
• Strong communication skills, driving goals and objectives, and obtaining commitments and accountability in the channel.
• Exceptional collaboration, relationship‑building, and interpersonal skills to develop working relationships at all levels.
• Experience with  or another CRM tool.
• Ability to build successful business plans and secure commitments from leaders.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools is a plus.
