Pest Control, Field/Service Technician

OverviewThe Pest Control Technician carries out residential pest management, including inspections, treatment applications, and customer education.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify pest activity, damage, and entry points.
- Apply approved pest control products—chemicals, baits, and traps—while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
- Educate customers on prevention methods and maintain a pest‑free environment.
- Provide advice to reduce future infestation risks.
- Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, and assist with sales to existing and new clients.
- Maintain and ensure all equipment is stocked, functional, and in good repair.
- Work in confined spaces such as basements, attics, and crawl spaces.
- Operate around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, and scaffolding.
- Handle fumes, dust, and chemicals safely, including wearing OSHA‑compliant respirators.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in locally appropriate weather gear.
- Handle physical tasks such as sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and moving up and down stairs, ladders, and poles.
- Clean shaven face for safe respirator use.
- High‑school diploma, GED, related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the employer).
- Availability Monday to Friday and weekends as needed.
- Open to learning all areas of pest control.
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow product label instructions for mixing.
- Customer‑facing experience preferred.
Base Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (varying by geography, skills, education, and experience). Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment.
