Job Overview

As a residential Regional Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for ongoing facility maintenance and repairs to keep several multifamily properties operating and appearing at their best in a designated region.

Responsibilities

You will use your ten-plus years of experience in property maintenance to address work orders and other repair and maintenance issues before they become major problems. You will utilize your certifications (HVAC, CPO, electrical, plumbing, etc.) to handle critical areas. You will proactively address routine maintenance and the general cleanliness of the property, including resident amenities such as the pool and clubhouse.

You will lead the day‑to‑day maintenance activities, set standards for work, assist teammates, and manage the Make‑Ready board to keep turnover work on schedule. You will handle difficult conversations with employees and residents, resolving concerns. Your attention to detail and project management skills will help find cost‑effective, high‑quality, timely resolutions. You will maintain a safety‑first approach, using EPA certification for chemicals and training the team in safety procedures and protocols.

Qualifications
  • Ten years of relevant work experience, preferably in multifamily building maintenance, with at least five years of supervisory experience.
  • Technical degree or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, S1 or S2 HVAC.
  • Experience in general building maintenance, including lighting, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Strong budgeting, cost control, vendor management, and scheduling skills.
  • Must have own tools and a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles.
  • Graduated with a 2‑year degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to function well in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Proficient with tools and materials needed for residential building maintenance.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, safety, integrity, and ethical behavior.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, OSHA, wage and hour, meal and rest breaks, and equal employment opportunity regulations.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
  • Respectful of all individuals, taking responsibility, following through, taking initiative, and keeping confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate company‑owned or personal vehicles.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in multifamily building maintenance with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Technical degree or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical; S1 or S2 HVAC certification desirable.
  • Experience in general building maintenance, light carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, cost control, vendor management, and scheduling.
  • Own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
  • Expected work hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.
  • Travel:
    Will be required to drive a personal vehicle between locations and for business purposes.
  • Work environment and physical demands:
    • Frequent lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Use of hands to manipulate tools and equipment; adequate vision and stamina.
    • Standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, in various weather conditions and variable climates.
  • FLSA Status:
    Exempt.
