Foreman – Tenant Fit-Out Projects (Electrical)

This role leads electrical tenant fit-out projects across the Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia markets. You will oversee field crews, ensure work complies with electrical codes and project specifications, and coordinate daily activities to deliver high-quality projects safely, on time, and within scope.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise field crews of 2–6 team members on electrical tenant fit-out projects in commercial and similar environments.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities, including assigning tasks, organizing materials, and sequencing work to meet project schedules.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with applicable electrical codes, project drawings, and specifications.
  • Oversee and perform conduit bending, wiring, and other electrical tasks as needed to support project completion.
  • Monitor jobsite safety, enforce the use of required PPE, and promote a strong safety culture on active construction sites.
  • Use daily reporting software (Esub) to document progress, labor, materials, and any issues or changes on the project.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including field personnel and office staff, to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
  • Train, mentor, and support apprentices and less experienced team members to develop their skills and productivity.
  • Identify potential problems or delays early and implement practical solutions to maintain project timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools, equipment, and materials are used and stored properly.
  • Support occasional weekend or overnight work when required by project workload or schedule.
Essential Skills
  • At least 7 years of experience in the electrical trade, preferably with a focus on tenant fit-out projects.
  • Journeyman electrical license or equivalent journeyman-level experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical code and its application in commercial tenant fit-out work.
  • Hands-on experience with conduit bending and related electrical installation tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience running tenant fit-out projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to lead and supervise small field teams effectively.
  • Experience using daily reporting software, specifically Esub, or similar construction management tools.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to give clear direction and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work early-morning shifts and adapt to varying project schedules.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent formal training.
  • Bilingual communication skills are beneficial for working with diverse crews and stakeholders.
  • Prior leadership experience in a foreman or lead electrician role on commercial projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • Capability to mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians to support their development.

Environment

This is a field-based role on active construction sites focused on tenant fit-out projects in the Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia areas. Typical work hours are either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., depending on project needs, with very occasional weekend or overnight work when required by workload. You will work in teams of approximately 2–6 people, coordinating closely to complete electrical installations safely and efficiently.
