Chelsea’s Chimney is hiring a full-time Chimney Technician / Installer in the Gaithersburg, MD area.

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable person who is comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and around scaffolding. This position is a good fit for someone with at least 1 year of chimney, roofing, masonry, construction, fireplace, or hands-on service experience. Candidates with 3+ years of chimney or related trade experience are strongly preferred and may qualify for higher pay based on skill level.

Pay: $20–$35 per hour, based on experience and ability

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, with potential Saturdays during the busy season

As a Chimney Technician / Installer, you will help inspect, repair, maintain, and install chimney and fireplace systems for residential customers. This is a hands-on field position that requires roof comfort, attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to follow company processes from dispatch to job completion.

You will work on chimney liners, caps, chase covers, masonry repairs, waterproofing, gas fireplaces, dryer vents, and other chimney-related services. Experienced chimney technicians are strongly encouraged to apply, but we are also open to motivated candidates with strong related trade experience who are willing to learn.

• Inspect chimney, fireplace, and venting systems for safety concerns, damage, blockages, deterioration, and needed repairs
• Install and replace chimney liners, caps, chase covers, dampers, and related components
• Perform chimney repairs, masonry work, waterproofing, and general maintenance
• Service gas fireplaces, dryer vents, and other related systems
• Safely work on roofs, ladders, and around scaffolding
• Identify hazards and potential issues on job sites
• Take job photos and document work accurately
• Explain completed work and recommended repairs to customers in a clear, professional way
• Use dispatching software such as Housecall Pro, Service Titan, or similar platforms
• Follow company procedures for dispatching, job documentation, materials, and completion
• Work with team members, helpers, office staff, and management to complete jobs efficiently
• Follow all safety standards and use proper personal protective equipment

Preferred:

• 1+ year of chimney, roofing, masonry, construction, fireplace, or related field service experience
• 3+ years of chimney or related trade experience is strongly preferred
• Previous experience working for a chimney company is a major plus
• Experience with chimney liners, caps, chase covers, masonry, waterproofing, gas fireplaces, dryer vents, or scaffolding is preferred
• Familiarity with Housecall Pro, Service Titan, or similar dispatching software is helpful

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Able to pass a background check
