Position Summary

The Social Services Coordinator mainly provides comprehensive case management to help clients access public benefits such as SSI, SSA, LIHEAP, SNAP, property tax credits, senior housing, and Medicaid/Medicare, as well as emergency financial assistance for those at risk of homelessness. The position also involves providing ongoing information and referrals, individual job counseling, career planning assistance, employment resource referrals, and career development seminars and workshops, as well as conducting outreach seminars for low-income individuals.

The role also includes handling phone inquiries and counseling, as well as conducting client pre-screening, intake, and needs assessments.

* This position is currently part-time (24 hrs/week); however, there may be an opportunity for conversion to a full-time position in the future based on organizational needs and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive case management to individuals and families to address their social service needs and assist them in accessing income security benefits, including but not limited to SSI, SSA, LIHEAP (energy assistance), SNAP, property tax credits, senior housing, Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Part

    D.
  • Provide emergency financial assistance to low-income individuals at risk of homelessness due to eviction, foreclosure, domestic violence, or other crisis situations.
  • Provide individual job counseling and employment-related services, including career planning, workforce development referrals, resume development, job search assistance, interview preparation, and career exploration.
  • Provide quarterly outreach seminars and workshops for low-income individuals on social services, employment resources, and other community support programs.
  • Provide ongoing information and referral services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social services, social work, psychology, or related human service field, earned in the United States.
  • Knowledge of Korean immigrant community and bilingual proficiency (both verbal and written fluency) in English and Korean is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, group discussions, or educational programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Experience with data entry, record keeping, and program reporting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for outreach events, workshops, and community meetings.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by program activities.
