Software Test Engineer 2 – (Python, LINUX, Test Automation)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Clearance: TS/SCI – Polygraph required

Position : 06-4-STE2

The Software Test Engineer has responsibility for supporting full life cycle testing efforts of comparable size and scope. The engineer works individually or as part of a team.

Experience required to support software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems, including the design, development, and maintenance of test plans, test cases, and testing processes. The engineer creates and maintains test environments and automated test capabilities, performs integration and acceptance testing, and reports and tracks problems through resolution.

Knowledge areas include test automation using Python, performance/load/stress testing, data interface testing, user interface testing, security testing, code coverage tools, systems integration testing, and management of LINUX systems and connected network components.

• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Supports software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems.
• Designs, develops, and maintains test plans, cases, and processes.
• Creates and maintains test environments and automated test capabilities.
• Performs integration and acceptance testing.
• Reports and tracks problems through their resolution.
• Uses test automation with Python.
• Conducts performance/load/stress testing.
• Performs data interface testing.
• Performs user interface testing.
• Conducts security testing.
• Uses code coverage tools.
• Performs systems integration testing.
• Installs, configures, manages, and enhances software applications.
• Manages LINUX systems.
• Manages connected network components.

• Six (6) years of experience as a Software Test Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree may substitute two (2) years of experience.
• Four (4) years of additional Test Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute a degree.

$138k-$168k (Annually)

The range displayed is a likely salary range for this position. Actual compensation will depend on experience, location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
