CDL Driver

Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies, Federal and State regulations, and to deliver freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
• Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Lifting heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional attitude.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred.
• Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

• Remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed.
• Constantly move from unloading materials from a commercial motor vehicle onto the job site.
• Operate a commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle continuously.
• Position self to unload materials from a flatbed or boom.
• Judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating a boom.
• Communicate with management and coworkers and exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Work continuously in an outside environment while making deliveries.

• Prioritize job sites and deadlines.
• Manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.
• Multi‑task effectively.
• Receive information and directions accurately.
• Quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.
• Demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement.
