Inventory Associate

Job Description

Job Summary: The Inventory Associate, will work individually or in a team environment to ensure the accuracy of all materials stored in the repository through management of the electronic database, physical product handling and routine inventory checks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge and utilization of the inventory database including all report features.
• Organize and maintain inventory for efficient storage space and safe handling of materials.
• Identify, investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies.
• Identify samples by the inventory label and product label information.
• Conduct annual cycle counts, as required.
• Strong knowledge of company inventory control practices and procedures.
• Plan, prioritize, problem solve and multi-task.
• Handle diverse tasks in an active office and or warehouse setting and work under various temperature environments.
• Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Nature and Scope: This position interacts with all levels of employees and with some customers. This role requires good communication skills and customer service skills. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures and will work well in a team environment. The job involves activities of a repetitive nature and requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position. This position requires the individual to be a self-starter and maintain strong attendance and performance.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet deadlines
• Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking to solve complex problems
• Must be able to exhaust all resources when identifying solutions to issues
• Very strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly learn various electronic databases (inventory)
• Ability to frequently lift 25 pounds and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Desired

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate forklift and scissor-lift
• Intermediate computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly learn various electronic databases (inventory)
• Ability to operate equipment at various heights
• Experience in inventory management with a life science company

Working Conditions: Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59–86 degrees

F), cold-room (36-46 degrees

F), and/or freezer-room (0 – negative 10°F). Temperatures can vary outside of these ranges. Performs work of a highly repetitive nature. Will walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. on a continuous basis. Will routinely push and pull up to 25 lbs. May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs. May handle “packaged” hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be willing to work as an emergency response team member on a rotational basis.
