PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of the facility's therapeutic programs.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain administrative and clinical operations that provide the highest quality care and best possible outcomes for the patients. Provide supervision to program staff.
  • Plan and implement program goals, objectives, personnel, resources and equipment. Implement the approved program plan objectives, timetables, expected outcome and measures for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee the program's budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits. Work may involve directing counselors, clinical staff or other facility / clinic staff involved in the delivery of services through the program. Organizes, manages and coordinates all operational and administrative processes.
  • Develop and implement operating policies and procedures for the program or organization; ensure procedures and workflow are consistent with organizational objectives, treatment protocol, regulations, and standards of care; ensure that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements. Identify opportunities to improve program's efficiency’s
  • Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Responsible for an assigned caseload if applicable to the program.
  • Support, teach and act as a program resource for other staff members.
  • Provide direct care relative to diagnosis and therapeutic management independently, using consultation where appropriate.
  • Monitor staff schedules to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are available to facilitate care in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, develop and maintain and audit charts and records for patients.
  • Serve as liaison and provide consultation with other staff on related issues, regulations, and standards pertaining to area of clinical specialty.
  • Provide outreach services in area of clinical specialty as needed.
  • Ensure Campus census goals are met on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure high quality clinical programming is delivered in compliance with all applicable policies
  • Ensure compliance with CARF, DBHDS, VDH, and all other applicable regulations and policies
  • Ensure the campus presents well with physical plant and grounds maintaining impeccable appearance.
  • Ensure a safe, pleasant, and therapeutic patient milieu.
  • Manage relations between departments in coordination with CEO, COO, and alternate site campus director.
  • Ensure campus expenditures are within budgetary requirements
  • Coordinate with Risk and HR departments on patient and staff issues.
  • Fill as stand in for CEO, COO, in conjunction with alternate Campus Director in absence of CEO or COO
  • Ensure all Acadia policies and reporting requirements are followed on an ongoing basis.
  • Act as a member of the program leadership team and hold on-call responsibilities
  • Work to effectively manage discharges, including blocking of AMA discharges on campus.
  • Serve as direct supervisor of any assigned departments or department managers.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field required. Master’s degree in behavioral health preferred.
  • Four or more years’ experience working in behavioral health required.
  • One or more years’ management experience required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
