* Support campus engagement initiatives and student leadership programming and collaborate with other college divisions, students, and faculty to support the departmental goals of fostering student success, retention, persistence and graduation.

Director of student engagement & leadership

* Principal working relationships:
Dean of student engagement & athletic director, associate director of student leadership & engagement, foundation, facilities, faculty, staff, students, and community members

* Serve as the Student Development point of contact for internal campus event coordination, providing guidance and logistical support to students, faculty, and staff planning events and activities.

* Administer and maintain campus event scheduling systems on behalf of student development, including Astra (room reservations) and Brightly (event setup and facilities support), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

* Collaborate with campus departments to coordinate space usage and event services in alignment with institutional policies to ensure equitable and seamless event execution.

* Implement and support departmental communication strategies to increase awareness and coordination of campus events amongst students, faculty, and staff.

* Develop and maintain partnerships with local agencies to support student basic needs initiatives, including food insecurity and transportation.

* Prepare monthly engagement dashboards for Student Engagement and Leadership Events.

* Develop and implement fall and spring semesters outreach strategies for students who have not engaged or who demonstrate declining engagement.

* Develop and facilitate programming for at-risk student populations that promote belonging and connection.

* Participate in professional development opportunities and memberships as they pertain to the department.

* Represent the college in a professional manner at community events, meetings, and engagements with external organizations during work-related functions.

* Other duties as assigned.

Assist with:

* new student orientation program planning and implementation on a semester basis.

* large- and small- scale campus programs such as a welcome week, fall fest, finals week activities, and other events as assigned.

* budget monitoring and financial responsibilities within departmental operations.

* day-to-day functions of the campus food pantry including monthly food deliveries, pantry reporting and data analysis, and staffing.

* departmental and college-wide efforts to create a unified vision and framework for a thriving student engagement culture.

Risk-management and loss-prevention activities

* Maintain a working knowledge of the college's emergency procedures and actively participate in the college risk-management program.

* Monitor conditions, events and circumstances that present risk to the college community. Intervene and/or report as specified in the college's risk-management plan.

* Associate degree from an accredited institution required; bachelor's degree preferred.

* Minimum of one (1) year of experience in higher education, preferably in student affairs, engagement, or success-focused roles. (Experience as a student volunteer, student intern, student teacher, camp counselor/instructor or student leader during undergraduate or graduate studies could meet this requirement).

* Experience with event planning and scheduling systems.

* Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

* Functional knowledge of office productivity tools and communication systems.

* Experience with higher education software such as Ellucian Colleague, Moodle, Blackboard, or Who's Next preferred.

* Demonstrated ability to monitor program budgets and prepare monthly and year-end projections preferred.

* CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.

* Valid driver's license.

* Spanish or French language proficiency preferred.

* Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning, and other office equipment).

* General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (20 lbs. or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit
