Salary:Starting at $46,000 (Exempt)
About the Position:Provide regional supervision, coordination, and support for Family Support Workers to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality family support services, including visitation, transportation, documentation assistance, and other assigned support activities. Promote efficient use of Agency resources while maintaining compliance with program expectations, The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) requirements, and the needs of children and families.
A Typical Day as a Foster Care Family Support Worker:- Provide training, guidance, and practical support to ensure Family Support Workers deliver quality services that are responsive to children, families, foster parents, casework staff, and program needs.
- Monitor Family Support Worker activities to ensure services align with agency objectives, program standards, required time frames, cost efficiencies, and culturally responsive practice.
- Maintain a regular in-person presence at assigned regional sites and in the field as needed to observe practice, provide support, address concerns, and ensure service expectations are met.
- Develop, review, and adjust Family Support Worker schedules to meet the needs of children, families, foster parents, casework staff, and regional program operations while following agency expectations for time management and attendance.
- Coordinate and provide coverage when needed to support visitation, transportation, documentation, and other family support services.
- Collaborate with Child and Family Team members, Family Workers, supervisors, foster parents, and community partners to support coordinated service delivery.
- Participate in meetings, staffings, and case-related discussions as needed to represent Family Support Worker services and address regional service needs.
- Assign, prioritize, and oversee support tasks completed by Family Support Workers, including supervised visitation support, transportation, filing, copying, report delivery, packet preparation, and other assigned program support duties.
- Monitor service delivery and documentation practices to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, DCFS guidelines, agency procedures, required time frames, and the rights and needs of children and families.
- Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, identify regional program needs, recommend workflow improvements, and support implementation of practice improvements for Family Support Worker services.
- Maintain a flexible schedule responsive to child and family needs, including required contacts, visits, court-related activities, crisis response, documentation deadlines, and agency expectations for attendance and time management.
