Tramec Sloan is currently seeking a Hydromat Technician / Operator to join our manufacturing team in Galion, Ohio. This full‑time hourly position offers competitive pay, a bonus program, flexible scheduling (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift) with shift premiums and overtime opportunities. Pay is based on experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Set up multispindle rotary transfer machines according to job specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Adjust machines as needed to ensure the correct machining of parts.
  • Maintain continuity between work shifts by documenting production, quality logs, and communicating actions.
  • Enter tooling, operating, and equipment commands into CNC machines so machines can perform the correct function.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Safety and Compliance
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
  • Technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in machine trades and/or a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to effectively use precision measuring tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CNC experience and previous work on multispindle machines are a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Basic shop math and analytical skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to operate a forklift truck; prior experience is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Regular working hours with overtime opportunities based on production needs.
