Job Summary

Staffing Coordinator. Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration. Reviews staffing needs on a daily basis, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports. Assists with payroll and timekeeping. Supervises Patient Sitters.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements.
  • Inform appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
  • Determine, coordinate and supervise staffing assignments for patient sitters.
  • Provide recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters. Perform or assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assess and ensure quality of services delivered and facilitate staff development programs. Ensure staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Compose, type, and transcribe correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
  • Receive, screen, and route visitors and telephone calls. Respond to, escalated, and follow up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
  • Schedule/coordinate meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
  • Maintain assigned calendar(s).
  • Maintain files and office equipment.
  • Order and stock supplies.
Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred;
Associate's Degree Preferred.
