Job SummaryTo support the mission of the College by ensuring a positive experience for prospective, current and former students who need assistance with Financial Aid processes. The Financial Aid Associate is responsible for maintaining documents submitted to the Financial Aid Office by students and parents. This position will assist students, in person, via email and on the phone, disseminating federal, state and institutional financial aid information.
This position is located at the front desk/lobby of the Financial Aid Office and will serve as the first point of contact in person, over the phone and email.
- Responsible for processing all student paperwork through Banner.
- Responsible for maintaining documents submitted by students/parents for Financial Aid processing.
- Responsible for telephone coverage for the Financial Aid Office.
- Responsible for the Financial Aid Office email.
- Assist with all personal inquiries and receptionist duties.
- Assist with distribution and receipt of financial aid paperwork from students and constituents.
- Responsible for all BDMS set up and processing.
- Responsible for training student workers and temporary employees.
- Occasional need to work extended hours during peak times.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate's degree.
- Two (2) years work experience in a college Financial Aid Office or in a higher education setting.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Possess excellent communication in oral and written forms.
- Knowledge of the guidelines and regulations pertaining to Federal, State and Institutional financial aid programs.
- Knowledge of Banner computer system and its operations.
- Knowledge of BDMS storage system.
- Knowledge of SLATE Communication system.
- Ability to work under pressure and to direct the flow of a considerable volume of detailed work.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective and positive working relationship with the students, public, and other employees.
- Ability to multi-task and triage student requests during peak times.
$34,736 - $41,684 annual salary depending on experience
