Senior Controls Engineer — Join Our TeamJoin Our Team as a Senior Controls Engineer! The start date for this position is February 2026. Ideal candidates will be available to interview in January. Apex Integration is looking for a skilled Senior Controls Engineer with experience in PLC, HMI/SCADA, controls design, and robotics.
Responsibilities- Controls specifications and design. Specify equipment for industrial automation applications (controls, robotics, and power distribution) within a work cell or line. Translate specifications into a deliverable controls drawing package. Experience in controls design with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN is required.
- Offline programming. Program PLC, HMI/SCADA and robotics in offline programs for installation preparation. This includes software such as Rockwell Studio 5000, Omron CX Programmer, GE Cimplicity, Rockwell Factory Talk View, and Fanuc Roboguide. Understanding the offline programming process and some software systems is required.
- Commissioning of automation systems. Commissioning will occur on-site at customer locations. Responsibilities include verification and debugging of offline programs, travel as needed, on-site troubleshooting, and providing basic training of systems to operators or management. Some electrical work and wiring troubleshooting are involved.
Main industries are automotive and packaging. Some other industries requiring automation will be part of the job scope.
