Salary Range: $16.00 To $16.00 Hourly

Creative Dining Services is looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working Utility staff member to assist in daily operations at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN .

The Utility staff members work to ensure the facility is clean, sanitary, safe and suitable for food preparation and the customer experience. Utility staff help ensure equipment, tables, chairs, floors, trash bins, loading areas, and food storage areas are clean, in good working condition, and are regularly attended to. This includes washing dishes, mopping floors, setting up and breaking down catering events, as well as detailed cleaning tasks throughout the dining services operation.

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensures trash bins are clean and emptied as needed throughout the day. Picks up trash and debris around dock, employee entrance and landscaping areas
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as needed
• Keeps the dock and receiving area clean and organized at all times
• Works in the dishroom as required, ensuring all equipment, pots/pans, smallwares and serviceware is clean and safe for use
• Scrubs and mops the cooler floors daily
• Assists in cleaning back of house (i.e. work tables, walls, etc.) and front of house (i.e. guest tables, dispensers, walls, carpets, tables)

Typical Schedule:Monday-Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (full-time)

Requirements: Strong work ethic, self-starter and ability to lift 25lbs. High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The Utility position involves physical cleaning work in all food service areas. This includes surfaces in kitchen, dish room, dining room, loading dock, storage areas, bathrooms, etc. and emptying trash receptacles. Requires moving inventory, carts, tables, chairs, or equipment along with restocking of bathroom and cleaning supplies. Must be able to live 25 pounds. Follows safe use instructions for cleaning chemicals.

Environment may include hot, cold, or humid temperatures and wet floors and loud noise.
