Position Overview

Identifies and transports material to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks and trucks safely and efficiently using established procedures. Operates an industrial lift truck to stage materials in accordance with move tickets, pick lists or verbal instructions; unloads trucks; receives and puts product away. Verifies part numbers and quantities and ensures the accuracy of all documentation with the use of computers, scanning devices and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with all safety rules at all times while moving material in accordance with production schedules or shipping pick forms.
  • Transport material to and from designated areas and carefully identify part numbers and verify quantities.
  • Report any inconsistencies or problems to the supervisor.
  • Process trans-loads for all inbound and outbound cross-dock operations.
  • Cross reference materials with the production schedule or pick form and move them to the required location.
  • Prepare orders for accurate, on‑time shipment of products.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and file it.
  • Ensure that all products have proper documentation before transport.
  • Receive inbound materials, verify information and quantity against packing slips or purchase orders, and identify and report any discrepancies.
  • Use snips, hammer, and other hand tools to open loads, remove strapping and wrapping, and dispose of them safely.
  • Place protective material around loads and use hand or automatic wrapping equipment to secure them for in‑plant handling, storage, or final shipment to customers.
  • Dispose of scrap or trash in the compactor and activate the compacting cycle while keeping the warehouse clean and orderly.
  • Perform operational and safety checks on equipment before the shift, including battery, brakes, and lift controls.
  • Prepare equipment for charging at the end of the shift.
  • Count inventory when directed and meet essential productivity standards in shipping and receiving.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 2–3 years of material handling/forklift experience.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn Oracle, MS Office Outlook, and scanning systems.
  • Basic math skills and working knowledge of part numbers and products.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize all responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • First shift work in the United States of America.
