Dispatcher Position
Wood Personnel has partnered with a Gallatin-based environmental services company that provides environmental maintenance, stormwater management, and industrial cleaning services throughout the United States and Canada. This family-owned business is committed to providing exceptional service with their fleet of vacuum trucks and dedicated teams to help industrial facilities, distribution centers, commercial properties, municipalities, transportation companies, and more.
The Dispatcher will be a vital member of our operations team by maintaining direct communication with drivers, customers, and other field personnel. This role involves creating routes promptly, rerouting based on real-time conditions, gathering and analyzing information, and ensuring profitability. Expert multitasking, attention to detail, and reliability is a must!
Compensation and Hours for the Dispatcher:
- $22 per hour to start
- Temp to Hire
- Monday through Friday; 8am – 5pm
- Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k
Responsibilities of the Dispatcher:
- Receive requests for service from customers
- Dispatch crews to service customers and relay communications to crews and other field personnel
- Create routes promptly and pay close attention to detail regarding customer requirements
- Create routes that meet profitability and revenue requirements
- Work closely with Sales to meet expectations
- Create routes that are compliant with federal DOT requirements
- Monitor service routes and make real-time adjustments as needed
- Monitor route profitability and adjust as required
- Send service confirmation to customers
- Monitor and track the activity of field personnel: operating expenses, fuel consumption, miles driven, service time on site, etc.
- Prepare projections based on expected routes promptly
- Refer customer inquiries regarding service issues, or available services to sales personnel
Requirements of the Dispatcher:
- Prior experience in scheduling and dispatching, preferably in a trucking or similar environment
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and hours of service management
- Basic knowledge of Excel, including familiarity with formulas
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and external customers
- Team player who can work independently
