The role blends traditional warehouse management with shop foreman‑level responsibilities, including equipment oversight, minor mechanical repair, yard organization, and direct support of field operations.
The successful candidate will lead by example, maintain strong inventory and equipment controls, support project logistics, and ensure the warehouse and shop operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Eskola’s standards for Safety, Quality, and Customer Service.
KeyDuties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse and Shop Operations Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse and yard functions, including receiving, storing, staging, and issuing roofing materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain an organized, job‑ready warehouse and equipment yard that supports efficient crew mobilization.
- Perform regular physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory control systems.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and ready for field deployment.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, or organizing materials and equipment as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of responsibility for shop and equipment readiness.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on roofing and construction equipment (e.g., kettles, pumps, generators, small engines, power tools).
- Coordinate major repairs and vendor service when work exceeds in‑house capability.
- Maintain equipment inspection logs and service records.
- Ensure damaged or unsafe equipment is immediately tagged and removed from service.
- Support field crews with urgent equipment needs or emergency swaps when required.
- Coordinate timely and cost‑effective delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.
- Stage materials according to project schedules to minimize jobsite delays.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to align inventory with project demands.
- Support after‑hours or emergency mobilizations when required.
- Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse/shop personnel.
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic and willingness to work alongside the team.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor team productivity and implement process improvements where needed.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, local, and Eskola safety requirements.
- Conduct regular warehouse, yard, and equipment safety inspections.
- Verify proper PPE use and safe material handling practices.
- Maintain forklift and equipment inspection programs.
- Support Eskola’s strong safety culture and “speak‑up” expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment, repairs, and shipments.

- Develop and implement procedures to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary material loss and improve yard organization.
- Support company initiatives focused on operational excellence and cost control.
- Help minimize unnecessary supply runs through proper planning and staging.
