Construction Manager – Battery Energy Storage (BESS)

Join a Leading Developer, Owner, and Operator of Utility-Scale Energy Storage

We're searching for a Construction Manager to support a utility-scale battery energy storage project in New Mexico on a 1-year contract. In this hands-on role, you'll oversee construction execution and coordinate closely with EPC vendors, OEM vendors, and subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget from Notice to Proceed through commissioning and turnover.

• Construction Manager:
  Lead field-level construction management for a utility-scale battery energy storage project
• Ideal for a hands-on leader with strong BESS or utility-scale renewable construction experience who thrives coordinating multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

• Work with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to lead construction management, tracking tasks and deliverables among the project team, suppliers, and stakeholders
• Coordinate, plan, and execute installation and commissioning of project equipment via EPC and OEM vendors and subcontractors
• Manage relationships with EPC, OEM, and other project delivery and service providers, serving as the primary point of contact directing on-site execution
• Track project progress and report key performance indicators, including EPC, budget, and schedule status
• Administer and track warranty claims and contractual deviations from Notice to Proceed through Commercial Operation, mitigating risk and avoiding scope creep
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA)
• Support project migration from construction into operations in collaboration with the broader project team

• Experience in construction of utility-scale renewable and/or energy storage plants, with direct battery energy storage systems (BESS) experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Demonstrated field experience in installation and commissioning activities as part of construction management
• A broad technical base covering production, process, logistics, and design concepts for renewable and energy storage systems
• Customer-focused approach, comfortable using critical reasoning and judgment to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work on-site in New Mexico for the duration of the contract, with frequent travel as needed
