Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE:
This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM. The University of New Mexico's Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face‑to‑face and/or online lower‑division courses (1000‑2000 level) during the Spring, Summer and Fall 2026 semesters in the following potential areas:
- ARCH 1120 (Introduction to Architecture)
- ARCH 2151 (Design Thinking)
- ARTH 1120 (Introduction to Art)
- ARTH 2110 (History of Art I)
- ARTH 2120 (History of Art II)
- ARTS 1143 (Introduction to Art & Ecology)
- ARTS 1220 (Art Practices I)
- ARTS 1410 (Introduction to Photography)
- ARTS 1510 (Introduction to Electronic Arts)
- ARTS 1610 (Drawing I)
- ARTS 1840 (Sculpture I)
- CCST 1125 (Chicana/o Latina/o Musical Cultures and Expressions)
- DANC 1110 (Dance Appreciation)
- DANC 1140 (Flamenco I)
- DANC 1170 (Hip Hop I)
- FDMA 2110 (Introduction to Film Studies)

UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching, including but not limited to: meeting face‑to‑face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends; content delivery; assignment development; grading; reporting of grades; and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.
CompensationAdjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads. Salary range: $1,135.26 - $1,228.24 per credit hour.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, or Master of Fine Arts degree in Architecture, Art History, any Art Studio discipline, Dance, Electronic Arts, Latin American/Chicanx Studies, Music, Music Production, Film, Theatre, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College‑level teaching experience.
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
