Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Estimator to directly support the USAF Cloud One Program, which is within the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS /SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
- OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD
- Knowledge of USAF Acquisition process is desired
- Use of the ACEIT Tool Suite to perform all program office estimates and analyzes.
- Use of routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation.
- Use of cost estimating outputs to assess the impact various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a particular weapon system.
- Must be detail-oriented and be able to adapt quickly to work in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and in person.
- Use of routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation.
- Use of cost estimating outputs to assess the impact various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a particular weapon system.
- Determine the most appropriate phase of the budgetary cycle (planning, programming, justification, execution, etc.) for initiating new programs; analyze all elements affecting costs for a project of limited scope.
- Analyze contractor financial data using EVM measures of merit to determine program viability with respect to cost, schedule, and performance.
- Use of the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) Suite to perform all program office estimates and analyses (mandatory for working in the C3I&N Directorate for all cost analysis positions).
- Apply analytical processes, including problem setup, background research, data collection and reduction, data display for analysis, mathematical formulation, and drawing conclusions.
- Ensure compliance with all cost estimating guidance including applicable DoD, Air Force, AFMC, AFLCMC, or other policy, publications, supplements, manuals, and related documents and regulations.
