Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Risk Manager to lead their risk assessment functions in George . This role is crucial for safeguarding the institution's financial health by evaluating creditworthiness, developing risk policies, and managing a portfolio of credit exposures. You will work closely with lending teams and senior management to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
The successful candidate will possess deep knowledge of credit risk principles and a proven ability to implement robust risk management frameworks within the banking and finance environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Analyze and assess the credit risk of new and existing clients, including financial statement analysis and market risk evaluation.
- Monitor the credit portfolio for potential risks, identifying early warning signs and recommending mitigating actions.
- Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts, fostering a culture of diligence and expertise.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on credit risk exposures and portfolio performance for senior management and board committees.
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit risk management, corporate lending, or a related area within the financial services sector .
- Strong understanding of credit risk modeling, financial statement analysis, and market dynamics.
- Proven experience in managing a team and developing risk management strategies.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel accords is highly desirable.
