SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Prevention & Recovery, the MAT Prevention Specialist Supervisor oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of substance use and mental health prevention. The position will provide supervision to prevention staff, ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines. The Supervisor will develop and disseminate communication materials and science-based messaging to educate the public, identifying key communication venues for target populations, including web-based social networking sited and print and broadcast media, implementing education and communication campaigns.

The position will also support training activities at partner community organizations.

Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for a thorough understanding of the HRSA MAT Access grant.
  • Provide direct non-clinical program support and administrative services to the MAT prevention team.
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders regarding improvements, data collection, treatment screening and the successes of the MAT prevention services.
  • Participate in grant funded activities specifically around MAT prevention services.
  • Market and promote the MAT prevention services by engaging and facilitating community outreach activities.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with MAT evaluation team meetings.
  • Oversee facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, organization and efficiency.
  • Develop and conduct presentations for education of MAT prevention services and continuity of care.
  • Monitor grievances from clients to adequately coordinate for resolution.
  • Oversee and guide team members by offering regular feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards and best practices.
  • Foster professional development by identifying training needs, providing mentorship, and supporting staff in achieving their individual and team goals.
  • Maintain ethical and confidentiality rules and regulations in accordance with HIPAA/42 CFR Part 2.
  • May be required to perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Special Skills:

Clerical
  • Knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
  • Skilled in data entry with minimal errors.
Communication
  • Skilled in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate.
  • Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Public Health, Social Work or related health and human services degree.
  • Must be able to successfully pass the IC&RC Prevention Specialist (PS) examination.
  • Must reside in McKinley County jurisdiction at time of testing and application.
  • Must meet additional NMCB-BHP requirements.
  • Bi-lingual/bi-cultural (Navajo/English) preferred.
  • At least two years working with the SUD population in a clinical setting, outpatient setting, or care coordination experience is preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license.
