Serving retreat guests with various needs and working with an assigned department outside of retreat time. Applicants may apply at .
All of these positions are the first to fill logistic needs for retreats. They play a key role in helping retreats happen before, during, and after a retreat event.
- Before a retreat – help with meeting space set up and other guest group prep
- During a retreat – Activity and Recreation support, Retail support, Retreat host support, Meal prep and clean (dishes), Housekeeping
- After a retreat – Housekeeping (room flips), Public space cleaning
Each person will report to a specific department (Landscape, Housekeeping, Maintenance/Projects, Programs, Activities, Food Service, etc.). During retreat seasons (fall and spring), the primary focus will be serving retreat guests, which could mean 3‑5 days a week serving guests and 1‑2 days in the assigned department. On lighter weeks this may be flipped. During downtimes (winter and holidays) department tasks increase.
ActivitiesReports to Activities Manager. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include maintenance on zip lines, High Five operation, or other activity projects.
RetreatsReports to Retreats Manager. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include sales calls or other projects related to the retreats department.
Family CampReports to Family Camp Manager. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include recruiting.
MaintenanceReports to Maintenance Manager or Lead. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include maintaining buildings and building projects.
ProjectsReports to Projects Lead. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include remodel spaces, interior and exterior painting, flooring, basic construction, prepping and cleaning up construction sites, and assisting with program project creation.
GroundsReports to Grounds Lead. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include landscape and snow removal.
ConferencesReports to Conferences Manager. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include recruiting and summer planning.
Tech ServicesReports to IT Manager. Primary non‑retreat tasks might include aiding in IT projects and upgrades.
Qualifications- Demonstration of a genuine pursuit of a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ
- Teachable – willing to learn new skills on a daily basis, positive can‑do attitude
- Hard Working – excellent work ethic, initiative taker, problem solver
- Outstanding customer service skills – service mindset, guests come first, professional, flexible
- Relational ability to fit well in a small community, excellent guest communication skills
- Ideally someone with previous work or college experience, preferably age 21+ or a demonstration of a similar level of maturity
Full‑time hourly position, onsite shared housing, health and wellness plan, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time (PTO).
HousingSingle staff will be in shared housing assigned based on availability; each will have their own bedroom. Meals will occasionally be available depending on work schedule and if guests are being served. Married applicants will be evaluated based on availability of housing.
Professional DevelopmentTraining and development will be part of the required responsibilities. This could include mentorships, classes (e.g. lunch and learns, residency classes), training, seminars and other personal and spiritual enrichment events.
TimelineA one‑year minimum commitment is requested. Start dates:
August or January. After summer, Glorieta Adventure Camps and the staffer will evaluate continuing in the role for another year. Summer responsibilities will be determined pre‑summer based on preference, skills/gifts, need, and/or available opportunities, including remaining with the assigned department.
