To supervise and coordinate assigned personnel projects to support educational program activities and operations within schools and various GMCS departments; to coordinate activities with other departments, outside agencies, and the general public; and to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Director of Personnel and Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services; and to lead data‑driven personnel operations and employee relations functions to support effective workforce management and organizational improvement.
SupervisionReceived And Exercised
Receives direction from the Director of Personnel and Assistant Superintendent of Personnel.
Exercises direct supervision over professional, technical, and clerical staff.
Essential Function Statements- Support all schools and departments regarding personnel matters.
- Facilitate in maintaining a strong customer service‑oriented climate by ensuring the Office provides helpful, responsive, and timely support to employees and prospective staff and all customers.
- Prepare and/or complete in an accurate and timely manner state and federal reports for the purpose of compliance.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of personnel data to support workforce planning, recruitment, retention, compliance, and organizational decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain personnel dashboards, reports, and metrics including staffing levels, vacancies, turnover, attendance, retention, benefits participation, and other workforce indicators.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of personnel records and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Project manage the following:
Records retention, compliance training, wellness, insurance and benefits, student teaching, unemployment, retirement, ADA accommodations, fingerprinting, verification of employment, onboarding, teacher development, FMLA, foreign national teachers, and various required hearings. - Serve as a lead resource in employee relations matters including workplace concerns, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, progressive discipline, and performance management.
- Conduct or coordinate workplace investigations and prepare findings, documentation, and recommendations.
- Assist administrators in addressing employee performance concerns through coaching, documentation, and professional growth plans.
- Monitor employee relations trends and recommend proactive strategies to support a positive and productive work environment.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention initiatives.
- Manage various purchase orders, payments, and processes in collaboration with staff for the department.
- Supervise the Personnel Office staff to complete assigned projects and tasks.
- Oversee and participate in recruitment and retention efforts.
- Provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to address challenges; coordinate personnel procedures.
- Oversee and participate in developing and administering the department's annual budget.
- Serve as liaison with other departments and outside agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
