Maintenance Supervisor

I'm currently partnering with a leading, well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor

You'll lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring the efficient maintenance of production equipment while driving reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting operational performance.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the maintenance team across planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

• Lead, coach and develop a team of maintenance engineers.
• Allocate daily workloads and provide technical support to the engineering team.
• Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules are completed.
• Coordinate reactive maintenance activities to minimise production downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs including downtime, OEE, MTTR and MTBF.
• Support root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with food safety, health & safety and quality standards.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Operations teams to maximise plant performance.
• Manage contractors where required and ensure all work is completed safely.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS.
• Support engineering projects, installations and site improvements.

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor or Maintenance Team Leader within a food manufacturing, FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
• Experience leading maintenance teams within a high-volume production environment.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred.
