Summary
This position is located in the Division of Nursing Services, Medical/Surgical Unit/3
West at Gallup Indian Medical Center Gallup, NM. This position is responsible for supervision, managing, directing, coordinating, leadership and evaluating the provision of nursing care provided on Medical/Surgical Unit/3
West. Reports to Supervisory Nurse/Assistant Chief Nurse Executive-Inpatient. A REAL be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

- Functions as the Supervisory Nurse with 24-hours responsibility for nursing services and nursing care in Inpatient/Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Plan work for the unit, adjusting work schedules as needed to meet the staffing and patient care needs.
- Implement personnel management procedures, training and career development plans, grievance procedures, safety practices as well as specific orientation and training of each employee.
- Recommend, initiate various personnel actions, performance awards, and disciplinary actions for employees at level of authority and work collaboratively with other Nursing leaders to meet Division of Nursing, hospital and Federal initiates and goals.
