this position is a 100% in office position in galveston, tx. Must live within a 30 mile radius and able to commute to galveston daily. This is a temp-to-hire position so we are only looking for candidates that are currently not working and available to work immediately.

galveston, tx area company is in need of a staff accountant on a temporary-to-hire basis.

• prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger accounts
• assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation

• bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 2+ years of experience as an accountant handling general ledger accounting functions
• strong microsoft office skills, particularly excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
• working knowledge of gaap reporting
• strong analytical and critical thinking skills

salary is $63-70k on a permanent basis. Equivalent hourly rate during the temporary period.
