General Description
The purpose of this class is to provide specialized administrative and technical assistance to an assigned department and may perform any or all of the functions outlined below.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Assists all Court Personnel in the Court where needed.
- Assists all Court Personnel in the Department regarding filing of all cases filed within the department.
- Responds to inquiries and requests from other departments and the general public; resolves problems as appropriate.
- Answers telephone; directs calls, answers questions, and takes messages as appropriate.
- Performs research and provides information.
- Issues and/or files citations, cases, subpoena warrants, and other court orders.
- Prepares cost bills and invoices.
- Operates Cash Register and runs daily reports each day.
- Prepares, types, and distributes reports.
- Provides certified or plain copies to requesting persons, organizations, or municipalities.
- Develops and prepares forms and correspondence.
- Assists department employees with personal computer and IT questions.
- Receives, sorts, opens, and distributes mail; stamps and mails outgoing mail; performs large-scale mail outs.
- Performs standard office functions, including faxing, copying, and shredding, filing and typing.
- Provides assistance in locating and providing court dockets to the court when needed.
- Performs assistance to scanning of Court Documents and verifying it.
- Remains aware of all laws and changes, procedures and requirements that apply to the Court, recordings and judicial proceedings to the County Clerk’s Office.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Requires three years of county clerk experience or closely related experience.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
The work is typically performed in an office.
