Associate Professor, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is a diverse research community with strengths in nuclear architecture, genomics, ancient DNA, structural biology, infectious disease, biophysics, and quantitative biology. In addition to a highly collaborative environment, UTMB offers many outstanding research facilities and benefits from adjacency to Galveston National Laboratory, which houses one of only two academic BSL-4 containment facilities in the United States.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in Galveston, Texas, invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at all ranks (assistant, associate, or full professor) in the broad research areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, and computational biology. Areas of particular interest include genomics, artificial intelligence, and single cell and spatial methods. A Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) is required.

Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain an externally funded research program. The positions are anticipated to begin in Fall 2026. SALARY:
