JOB SUMMARY:

Galveston College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty Member in Sociology to provide high-quality, in-person instruction to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sociology and a passion for teaching. This position involves delivering engaging coursework, fostering critical thinking, and supporting student learning in a classroom setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Teach assigned in-person sociology courses following the college's curriculum and academic standards.

* Develop and implement instructional materials that enhance student understanding of sociological concepts.

* Engage students through interactive lectures, discussions, and real-world applications of sociology.

* Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation.

* Provide timely feedback, academic support, and mentorship to students.

* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

* Stay updated on developments in sociology and incorporate relevant topics into coursework.

* Adhere to college policies and participate in faculty meetings and training as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree or higher in Sociology or a closely related field.

* Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Commitment to student success and inclusive learning.
