Peer Tutor
Students interested in applying must be a current UTMB School of Medicine or PA student in good academic and professional standing. Indicators of good standing include:
- No history of professionalism issues.
- No course remediations.
- Score of 70 or higher on all course exams.
- Performance feedback from UTMB School of Medicine faculty and/or staff may be considered.
- Previous experience with teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is preferred.
- MD Eligibility: rising MS2s, rising MS3s, and rising MS4s.
- PA Eligibility: rising second years (PAS-2)
- Students who currently have a UTMB GA, TA, or Federal Work Study position are ineligible to hold the tutoring position.
The MD and PA Peer Tutors are part-time, with the expectation that they will work a minimum of 5 hours per month. They organize and host weekly group tutoring sessions for MS1, MS2, and PA-S1 coursework throughout the academic year. They also hold one-on-one tutoring sessions as requested by MS1, MS2, MS3, and PA-S1 students. The position runs through the academic year.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
