  • Develop transportation design plans and project deliverables using Open Roads Designer and other engineering software
  • Assist in the preparation of roadway, drainage, utility, and traffic control plans in accordance with industry standards and specifications
  • Coordinate with project engineers, designers, and technical staff to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Conduct project site visits to gather data, verify conditions, and evaluate constructability concerns

Minimum Salary: 40,918.00

Maximum Salary: 61,130.00

Position Description Performs basic design work and calculations. Performs field work; uses automated systems. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Essential Duties:
Performs basic design work. Performs intermediate drafting and calculations in support of design activities; accomplishes non-routine and complex assignments. Prepares field notes. Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps. Prepares roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans. Uses automated programs, interactive graphics and the Design and Construction Information System. Works on reproduction of plans. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies

Experience:

No experience required Licenses and

Certifications:

Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of design and highway construction;
Roadway design and design software knowledge is great but not required;
Must know how to interpret and read plans;
