- Minimum Bachelor's Degree or professional licensure in the field of nursing or human services preferred.
- At least five years of management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Meet the regulations and requirements of the state(s) in which program provides services
- Ensure that the Hospice is in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws. Ensure the completion, maintenance, and submission of all required reports and records to Federal, State, Joint Commission and Local regulatory departments. Maintain Joint Commission accreditation, when applicable, and maintain a state of survey readiness. Address physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Manage the overall financial performance of the program which includes oversight of all controllable costs.
- Manage the office administration functions of the hospice program.
- Counsel and coach managers to manage their staff effectively and successfully through the identification and resolution of actual and potential employee problems.
- Ensure that orientation of new staff is provided. Provide regularly scheduled in-service education programs and opportunities for continuing education for the staff which covers the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of hospice patients and their families during the final stages of illness and during dying and bereavement.
- Performs other duties as assigned including those within the scope of current, valid professional licensure/credentials (i.e. RN, SW, Chaplain, MT, HA, etc.).
