ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Faculty Positions:
Department of Translational Neuroscience, UTMB
We are seeking innovative scientists to join our team and advance neuroscience research and its clinical applications.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong neuroscience background and expertise in:
- Microbiome and Gut-Brain Axis:
Research on gut-brain connections in neurological function/disease. - Bioinformatics and Multiomics:
Analysis of large-scale biological data such as transcriptomics for neurological insights into disease mechanisms and targets. - Biomarkers and Human Tissues and Samples:
Utilizing human samples for biomarker identification, disease mechanisms, and translational research. - Successful candidates will establish extramurally funded research programs, contribute to our educational mission, and engage in collaborative initiatives across UTMB.
- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in neuroscience or a related field.
- Strong record of research accomplishments and publications.
- Independent extramural funding.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring.

The Neuroscience Graduate Program based in the department is the first PhD program in neuroscience in Texas.
