Human Resource Intern

The intern in this program will handle several Human Resources related duties within the HR Department. May be assigned to an HR Project for research and development. This internship will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop an understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and advanced human resources management techniques. This will be a paid internship, and we can work with your availability.

Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)

Pay Rate: $15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the areas of the Human Resources Department (i.e. greet visitors, applicants, answer telephones), provide information to visitors/callers when appropriate, direct to appropriate HR personnel and/or take messages when necessary.
  • Tasks related to departmental project supporting the Human Resources functions.
  • Maintain filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
  • Compose, type, and distribute routine correspondence, and reports as directed.
  • Maintain scheduling and event calendars as needed.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed material as requested.
  • Order and dispense supplies when necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment area as needed.
Required Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate of a college, university, or trade school.
Working Conditions
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, utilizing standard office equipment. Attend meetings at various sites within and away from office.
  • Mobility to climb up and down stairs, as needed.
  • Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, including the ability to look at a computer screen for at least eight hours each day.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
Necessary Equipment Operation
  • Office equipment, including telephone, fax machine, scanner, computer, printer.
Special Skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
  • Able to work in a highly confidential manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High performance and a strong team player.
