Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent and four (4) years’ experience in healthcare supply chain operations, healthcare purchasing, or other closely related field; including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical operations experience, specifically in dealing with clinical care providers.
  • Certification with AHRMM, ISM, APICS, Healthcare Resource Management, CMRP, CPM, or CPIM.
Job Summary

The Manager of Supply Chain Operations directs and implements all supply management activities for the assigned areas for the purpose of ensuring consistent and adequate supply availability and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. Position assures that the Hospital is provided with consistent, high-quality, and cost-effective supply management operations with respect to all assigned supply management‑related duties. Such assigned duties may include those related to inventory management, PAR location management, warehouse management, and central receiving and shipping functions.

Position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and continuous monitoring of goals, key performance indicators, customer satisfaction surveys, service level agreements, and policies and procedures for assigned locations and staff. Assists in the preparation of long- and short-term goals and objectives for the operations. Serves as the in‑house consultant for all supply management functions.

Job Duties
  • Manages the operational functions, specifically focused on the following:
  • Manages compliance with operational processes and initiatives.
  • Monitors and reports monthly on operational progress using best practice metrics
  • Provides for minimal inventory levels while maintaining maximum scope of product category inclusion with dual focus on clinical and procedural supply management activities. Assures that inventory levels are monitored, measured, and reported annually.
  • Manages all materials handling processes for assigned location ensuring provision of agreed upon levels of supply inventories and that all products are of acceptable quality.
  • Manages operational performance and maintains adherence to established budget guidelines.
  • Directs staff and oversees the professional growth and development of all assigned direct reports. Actively manages staff and assures that each is treated with respect and fairness and that each is provided with tools, training, and knowledge to perform their duties. Exercises responsible stewardship of finance and human resources.

  • Measures and reports operational metrics on a departmental level and participates in benchmarking on a regional and national level.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets for assigned supply chain management cost centers in a timely manner and in accordance with instructions from the Director of Supply Chain Operations.
  • Justifies budget variances as necessary.
  • Monitors and adjusts supply costs, staff mix, and productivity to achieve optimum use of resources. Supports quality service through proper organization, staffing, resource utilization and work allocation within the department.
