Job Title

Conducts innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories, and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.

Essential Job Functions:

• Conducting innovative scientific investigations by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories, and research in projects
• Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care
• Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques
• Oversee the lab's routine performance
• Assist PI in writing the manuscripts, designing the experiments, and submitting grant applications
• Train the medical school students and graduate school students in the lab
• Present the data to the national/international professional meetings and will oversee communication with the group's collaborators
