This position is designed for post-baccalaureate individuals participating in a UTMB post-baccalaureate
research education program with major responsibilities of research and academic work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Learns and masters basic laboratory techniques taught in a classroom-setting or in a research
laboratory to gain proficiency for performing laboratory or computational research
* Works with research faculty to define a research plan and project and carries out research on
defined project(s);
Reports results of the research in written and verbal reports
* Performs research work which may comprise of laboratory work or computational/data-based
work under the direction of responsible faculty
* Attends any and all scheduled meetings with exceptions for excused absences, and participates
in activities that include individual development planning and writing assignments
* Attends scheduled meetings with mentoring team members including graduate students and
postdoctoral members
* Student tutoring and academic skills building as related to professional training
* Literature and database research as needed for the research
* Adheres to all policies and regulations of UTMB
* Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
* Performs related duties as required to fulfill personal academic requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
SALARY RANGE:
Commensurate with experience.
